The Challenge
This customer wasn’t after a half-measure — they wanted real peace of mind when the power goes out. Not just keeping the fridge running or a couple of lights on, but full whole-home blackout protection: lights, power points, aircon, the works, all staying live no matter what the grid was doing. On top of that, they wanted a system that felt rock-solid and “done right” — no compromises on build quality or capacity.
The Solution
We installed a GoodWe ESA all-in-one system, pairing 6.6kW of solar with a 10kVA inverter and 16.64kWh of battery storage. With everything housed in the one unit, the whole home is now backed up — when the grid drops out, the changeover is seamless and the entire house keeps running as if nothing happened. With 16.64kWh in the tank, there’s plenty of capacity to ride out an outage (or just power through the evening) without missing a beat.
The Result
This 6.6kW solar and 16.64kWh battery combo generates around 10,500 kWh of clean energy a year, cutting roughly 7 tonnes of CO2 in the process. On the bill side, the household is looking at savings in the order of $2,800–$3,200 a year, as surplus daytime solar gets stored and used to cover evening and overnight power instead of being exported for next to nothing.
But the real win is peace of mind — if the grid goes down, the whole home stays powered. With 16.64kWh on tap, that’s enough to comfortably run lights, fridges, TVs and everyday essentials through a typical outage without rationing power or waiting anxiously for the lights to come back on.
