The Challenge

With a 5kVA inverter and 6.66kW of panels already on the roof, this customer was sending plenty of excess solar back to the grid for next to nothing. The solution? A big battery system to soak up all that leftover power and put it to work covering their evening energy use instead.

The Solution

We decommissioned and removed the old system, then installed 30 new panels across the north and east faces of the main roof. A 10kW AlphaESS hybrid inverter with four floor-mounted battery modules was installed in the garage with protective bollards, sized so the household can run almost entirely off stored solar overnight.

The Result

The home now generates around 19,800kWh a year and routinely exports nothing, because everything is either used or stored. The owners have effectively removed their evening peak usage from the grid and the system is on our annual maintenance plan.
